The Art Of Love

That afternoon, my ex-roommate called me. I remember her Aunt after a while and asked about her.

“…. Aunt Ellie scolded Andrea while she arranged the food on Mario’s plate! Andrea was so surprised. I could tell, she didn’t know how to react.

Why is that so?”

“She said that it was a bad habit to let your husband get used to being spoiled like that.”

“What made her think that way?”

I have no idea. She said that it’s not a good idea to be romantic in front of other people. But well, newlyweds do a lot of things together, even ate from the same plate. They sit next to each other all the time; no one could separate them. They are glued.”

Well, Aunt shouldn’t be angry but learn from those two how to be nice!”

“Oh, well.. she is too old for that…”

“You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”

~Dr. Seuss~

When we believe we fall in love, our hearts beat so fast. The sensation in our body doesn’t let us fall asleep. We want to have it all the time, we become so attached to it. The feeling drugs us, it makes us fly, it makes us forget ourselves.

Time passes… We are so busy with our life. The work, the kids, the household... We forget about the sensation, yet we miss it.

Do we still have love? If so, why can’t we keep the sensation? Where has it gone? How should we get it back?

We want more, but none comes. We begin questioning our relationship, we believe we are not as happy as we used to. We grow apart while wishing we could have the old times back.

Have you ever wonder what love is? And how should we love? Do you agree that love is within us?

Sometimes, we keep looking for love anywhere; we are too busy to pay attention, we may think that love is someone who is responsible for it. We become demanding, we forget the essence of love.

Love is within us; love has nothing to do with the relationship, love is inside us. All we need is to create is a loving heart.

When you are able to give unconditionally, how do you feel? Love is not easy to describe, but when it’s there, we can feel it in our hearts.
