“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.”

~William Shakespeare~

“I believe that destiny has brought us together. I’m more than happy to support you guys in this business!”

A wonderful lady, highly respectful position in the healthy food industry-accepted our products during our first month in business!

It was a coincidence.

We met her during lunch; I smiled at her, and she came to say hello to us.

It turns out she was the owner of the restaurant.

We told her about our new business, and it so happened that she was looking for exactly those products!

Who wouldn`t feel so blessed for that lunch?

We were very fresh, we knew nobody, and someone accepted us just like that.

So, we started to send our products the same week to that prestigious place.

We were too naive, didn’t believe in our products that much back then, so we agreed on the consignee terms, which she will pay for the goods after she sold them, and she promised to pay every end of the month.

She kept ordering weekly, more and more…

We were so happy and kept sending the goods.

On week 3, during our conversation, I told her about my fashion design career, and she was thrilled!

She was one of the fashion designer association leaders.

She knew almost everyone in the industry and promised to help me to grow my fashion business.

She asked me to join the next fashion show, but I needed to pay some amount of money, which was quite a big amount for me at that time.

Because by that time, I decided to focus on our Mother Nature mission, I refused her tempting offer.

She was ok with my decision and kept ordering our products.

On week 4, we sent her bills.

She didn’t return the message, so we tried to call her, she didn’t pick up.

We made some appointments with her assistant, flew to meet her a couple of times, but she was never there every time we got there.

This month is our 5th year, and until this day, we never received her payment.

Her restaurant is still there, at least we saw it running before the pandemic.

We could chase her to pay the bills, use our energy for it, but after a couple of times, Silver and I were looking at each other and laughed.

We let her use the “destiny” word to cheat us.

We may lose our products and money, but we learned a lot that a smile and some good words and promises in the meeting will not always bring us cash.

But for sure, it gave us experience.

We decided to let go and focus on the right partnerships.

We have grown so much from it.

We saw so many fake smiles; we saw kind-hearted people, true friends, a hearty chef, a cook who did his job only for money, many men and women behind prestigious places, brands, and we studied behaviors.

We began to understand why people do what they do and how we can serve our customers better.

“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.”

~Ralph Waldo Emerson~

Destiny is in our hands.

We either want to make it a great or bad one.

Never judge a book by its cover.

Some things may look like a bad deal or misfortune in the beginning, but when we clear our minds, we can see why it happened to us and begin to see the opportunity.

Never let bad people or bad situations bring us down because it’s not worth it.
