Why do I write?
For me, writing is to inspire.
I want to motivate people to spread more love to live a joyful and meaningful life through writing.
I love His Holiness Dalai Lama so much, and his teachings have influenced my life so much.
Growing up in Indonesia with a Chinese ancestor background has taught me many lessons about how racism can affect someone’s life.
I thought that I am an Indonesian until friends at primary school teased me and called me “CINA” *Cina means China in Indonesian.
I started to hear people calling me “CINO”* when I moved…
I’ve been making new resolutions for a long, long time, and I’ve been procrastinating on some things, and sometimes, I’ve achieved more than my goals, too.
Every year, I’ve learned, made mistakes, fell, stood up, moved forward, and became much stronger and smarter. Surviving 2019 and 2020 made my expectation for 2021 very optimistic. Especially in 2020, we were not declining but growing.
I put in my journals every piece of advice that works or not during all these years. …
As I got my new book yesterday afternoon; The Wisdom Of No Escape by Pema Chördön, I immediately read it this morning. I must say that Pema Chördön explains the art of loving-kindness and mindfulness in a beautiful way, easy to understand, and I can relate to almost every story that she wrote in the book.
I love how she explains how we should befriend with ourselves. Reading this book opened my mind about accepting our true selves deeply. How we shouldn’t be afraid of our negative side, but to observe.
Loving-kindness. Love is kind. Love is understanding…
After 5 years of friendship, I married my best friend, my teammate.
We have been married for more than 10 years. Every time we pass another year, we looked at each other and can not believe the time has passed so fast.
I challenge myself every day to feel like an extraordinary woman.
I want to help other women feel the same.
Some friends and family asked me, how did I do that? How do I have so much time for everything? How do I balance a career and a happy marriage? …

I grew up in a small town in Flores island, Indonesia. When I was a child, people there were lucky to see one or two westerners in a year. Bule is the name Indonesians call westerners. Most of the bules that passed by our hometown were backpackers. So the image of a bule or western person in my hometown was poor and stinky because most of them didn’t…

“ I hate math. I am bad at math. My name is always at the bottom of the board in the class.” I remember I heard these excuses many many times from my son, Patrick when he was still enrolled in the normal school.
Math made him very stressed. He couldn’t even memorize some simple multiply.
He is an active boy, so sitting down in front of the computer for more than 2 hours feels like forever for him. There was a moment during the…

How long have you been married? How’s your marriage life? If you open this article, I congratulate you for being an open-minded person who wants to have a better relationship with your partner.
Do you agree with me, by saying “Yes, I do” means we are signing our contract to make our marriage work? It’s the beginning, not the end. It turns out there’s a lot of things we have to do to make the marriage work. …

Today is the end of 2020, let’s be grateful we are still here, breathing and alive. If we survived in 2020, we will be a much stronger person in 2021!
Nothing will hold us back if we let go and trust ourselves on this journey.
Whatever it is that we choose to start our 2021, let’s do our best. Be the best person who accepts who we truly are, be the best son or daughter to our parents, be the best parent, and the best entrepreneur!
Being the best doesn’t mean that we have to avoid the…
Patrick, my son was struggling for a minute with some string membrane from a piece of melon on his fork. When he asked for my help, I put the melon inside my mouth and ate it.
His mouth was open like he wanted to say “HOW COULD YOU….DO THAT?”
We were laughing, and Silver told him “that was a Gordian knot!”
Have you read the story about Alexander The Great?
What lesson did you learn from it?
Have you experienced something similar? When you face a problem and you spend all the…
That afternoon, my ex-roommate called me. I remember her Aunt after a while and asked about her.
“…. Aunt Ellie scolded Andrea while she arranged the food on Mario’s plate! Andrea was so surprised. I could tell, she didn’t know how to react.”
“Why is that so?”
“She said that it was a bad habit to let your husband get used to being spoiled like that.”
“What made her think that way?”
“I have no idea. She said that it’s not a good idea to be romantic in front of other people. But well, newlyweds do a lot of things…
